It has been a long summer for me. I have had trouble of loosing my voice since May. I could barely talk and sometimes I would loose my voice by the end of the day. So I went to a throat specialist and he looked at my throat. They told me that I might have nodules on my vocal chords. So they told me not to talk for 2 weeks. I had to take steroids so the swelling would go down. My voice was the same. So I went back to the specialist and he told me to wait another month to see if my voice got better. I did that and a month later it was still the same. So then he said I would have to have surgery to remove the nodules. I DID NOT want to have surgery! But there was nothing else they could do. So my surgery date was September 25th. I went in and got prepared for the surgery. They took some blood and said it was to thin to do the surgery. I am on blood thinner and I had to be off of it 5 days before the surgery. So they couldn't do the surgery! They had to wait a couple days for my blood to thicken up a little. So they rescheduled my surgery for September 29th. I went in and everything was ok for them to do the surgery. He went in and looked at my vocal chords. There was no nodules...the loosing of my voice was from acid reflex. So when I came out of surgery I was in extreme pain. I could barely swallow it was so bad. He said not to talk for 2 days but just to make sure I am waiting an extra day. So just thought I would let you know what is happening around here!

Hello Judy- Hope you are feeling better. What surgery did they end up doing if there weren't any nodules? It sounds awful
take care
They scraped stuff off my vocal chords. They said the stuff was caused by acid reflex.
